Kanji Reading Practice #45 - Park Signs イノシシ注意

Another sign that you may see an any type of park, or public, place in Japan. You wouldn't normally see this in any park that is in a city though. This one is going to be near the woods and the mountains. Unless you are in a small city in the countryside that doesn't have a large population. See down below the photo for the explanations of the kanji readings and meanings if you don't already know them. Hopefully you do already know them. Comprehensible Japanese (YouTube Channel)

Here is a great resource where you can learn Japanese with the comprehensible input method. Yuki speaks Japanese while using pictures and drawings to describe what she is talking about. She uses beginner Japanese to describe pictures with stories, or by drawing things while she is talking in Japanese. Yuki started the channel about 3 years ago, and has around 175 videos at this time. The frequency of new videos is about one per week. I think this is a great way to learn, and will help you with your listening skills while you learn some new words and concepts. Check out Yuki's " Comprehensible Japanese " channel. Below is a sample video of Yuki talking about how to make Japanese Curry rice. Below that is her most recent video, which she appears in, talking about how to make a smoothie. This video of Yuki describing the differences between two similar pictures was very helpful.

“The Bite Size Japanese Podcast” can be fun for those with an intermediate level understanding of the Japanese language. Layla has a number of different platforms where she teaches Japanese, and this podcast is one of them.

Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories (Netflix)

There is a really good Netflix series called " Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories" . This series is actually a 'continuation' of the original "Midnight Diner" that was on Japanese television. The series centers around a diner in Tokyo that is open from midnight to 7 a.m. in the morning. The owner of the diner is the only person that works there, and there is only one dish and some alcohol on the menu. Even though the menu consists of only tonjiru, sake, shochu, and beer, he will make almost anything that a customer would like to eat. There are a few rules around this though, he has to have the ingredients on hand (or the customer has to provide them), and it can't be an overly complicated dish to make. There are a wide variety of customers that visit the diner providing for interesting stories.
